Hey, Dmitry Katson on the line

I graduated from St. Petersburg Polytechnic University in 2007, specializing in Physics and Mathematics. During my second year of university, I began my career, joining one of the largest Gold Partners, where I was introduced to Navision. Almost 20 years later, that passion for business software has only grown stronger.

My journey in the tech world has taken me through many roles. After two years in consulting, I transitioned to the customer side, working for a top-tier international tech company that used Navision 3.7 worldwide. I was part of a talented team where I got to travel the world, meet amazing people, solve thousands of cases, and enhance my technical and leadership skills.

Over time, I co-founded NavDesign, driving our team to create ISV solutions that helped thousands of people. We grew from a small operation to a team of 25 in just three years. During this time, my passion for Business Central solidified, and I made the decision to focus entirely on it.

AI was on the rise, and I quickly saw the potential it had in transforming business systems. I founded Katson.com with a vision to enrich Dynamics 365 Business Central with smart, AI-powered solutions. Since then, I’ve helped many partners bring their ISV solutions to life, integrating them into AppSource.

Pioneering AI with CentralQ

In 2023, I created CentralQ.ai, the first AI-powered search engine designed to harness the collective knowledge of the Business Central community. CentralQ quickly became a vital tool for the ecosystem, allowing users to access the wisdom of the community more efficiently.

In early 2024, I launched CentralQ Chat, the first personalized AI assistant for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, making it the pioneer ahead of Microsoft’s Copilot Chat. CentralQ Chat pushed the boundaries of AI integration in business systems, making Business Central smarter and more intuitive to use.

Achievements and Awards

In 2018, I was honored to be recognized as a Microsoft MVP. I’ve had the privilege of speaking at industry-leading conferences, including Directions ASIA, EMEA, North America, BC Tech Days and many more. I was also instrumental in organizing the first AI Bootcamp.

Since relocating to Koh Samui, Thailand in 2020, my focus has shifted to AI-powered innovations and helping businesses thrive with technology.

In 2024, I received the AI MVP award and the Contribution Hero Award for my work in the AI community.

Relocation to Samui, Thailand

Covid-19 made a thing – my family moved to beautiful Thailand and stayed here. I started completely online business: trainings, conferences and outsource Business Central development.

I traveled around the world, even from Bangkok to Las Vegas in 1 week. Had an honor to be a Speaker at NAVTech Days, Directions ASIA, EMEA, North America, Days of Knowledge.

One of the important achievements in BC life is to become a part of very limited MVP family of amazing people. First time speaker at NAVTech Days, Directions EMEA.  Run my own AL development courses. Organized first-ever AI Bootcamp in Russia

Business Central App development and implementation services worldwide was born. My cloud-first, app-first and AI-first vision brought me to the point of starting my new company under the personal brand. Spreading the vision among the community started.

Consyst Business Group

Director of Cloud & AI department. Created the department from scratch: goals, strategy, and team. Published ever-first AI Maintenance Predictive App, Cross-ERP Documents Exchange App.

2013
NavDesign

Owner and CEO. We raised up to 17 people. Fully automated support department been solving 1K issues monthly. ISV department created Business Central applications, used by thousands of users every day.

2010
NavDesign

Co-owner, Head of NAV Development. I started my ever-first company. What a journey it was…wow. Learned a lot from finding the right team to finding money to run the company. We started with international implementation services and created first ISV products for project management and budgeting.

Support engineer, developer. First customer-side work. First international travels. First upgrade projects.

2005
Awara IT Solutions

Trainer, developer. Alexander Ermakov, who is now MVP, speaker and very well known in Business Central world, just started a new company. I trained his team and helped him with Navision implementations. Now, they are big international Gold partner, were many of my friends work.

Korus Consulting

Navision developer. Start of my Navision career happened at this wonderful company – the biggest Gold partner at those period. People I worked with are still among my best friends.

2001
St. Peterburg Polytechnical university​

I relocated to St. Peterburg from small city Vitebsk, Belarus – the home of many well-known artists - Mark Chagal and Kazimir Malevich. The University learned me how to team with people, think coherent, search for information quickly and raise questions.
