Where I Would Go at Directions EMEA 2025

This year, unfortunately, I won’t be able to attend Directions EMEA in Poland — even with a valid visa, current Polish entry rules for Russian citizens make it impossible. It’s disappointing, but let’s say I’m not one of those who doesn’t respect border laws 😉 I may disagree, but I respect.

Directions has always been one of my favorite community events — where innovation, networking, and inspiration meet. So even though I won’t be there, I want to share with you what sessions I would attend if I could.

Setting the Stage

Every session at Directions EMEA is valuable. The agenda is packed with deep technical insights, inspiring business cases, and forward-looking discussions. Whatever role you play in the ecosystem — developer, consultant, ISV, or customer — you’ll find content worth your time.

That said, I’m currently focused on the Agentic Coding initiative (aka Vibe Coding). With the rise of coding agent frameworks and the MCPs (Model Context Protocol) for adding tools to agents, we are entering a new era of agentic development in AL.

At last year’s Directions (see my blog here: Directions 2024: Where to Find Me), my focus was on copilots — mostly deterministic AI implementations. Together with Waldo, we also presented the Telemetry Copilot (aka Troubleshooting Buddy) — which at that time felt way ahead of its time. Funny enough, in just one year it already feels outdated. But the story doesn’t end there: Waldo recently reborn it as an MCP, and in today’s agentic world it has become super smart and handy. Great Job!

In my session with Dona Sarkar, we went further, showing what’s possible with open-ended, non-deterministic agents and multi-agents.

Multi-agents are still not quite here, but agents themselves have made huge progress, and with MCP they became truly useful for Business Central development.

In my recent blog — MCPs for AL Vibe Coding — I listed the MCPs released in just the last three months by brilliant folks from the community. Many of those creators will be at Directions, and they’re running sessions that you really should not miss.

Sessions I Wouldn’t Miss

Below are the sessions I’d absolutely not miss at Directions EMEA 2025, sorted by schedule. These are the ones that tie directly to Agentic Coding or Vibe Coding — area where I’ve personally seen results that were simply mind-blowing.

🗓️ Day 1 – November 4

  • The Future of Business Central environment management at scale: API + Telemetry + AI
    Duilio Tacconi, Stefano Demiliani
    Session link
    📍 PCC Level 1 – 1.E | ⏰ 11:15 – 12:00

  • Microsoft presents: Vibe Coding
    Steffen Balslev, Vincent Nicolas
    Session link
    📍 Earth hall B | ⏰ 14:00 – 14:45

🗓️ Day 2 – November 5

  • From Chaos to Code: Building a Knowledge-First Development Workflow
    Jeremy Vyska
    Session link
    📍 PCC Level 0 – 0.D + 0.E | ⏰ 11:15 – 12:00

  • Making GitHub Copilot Smarter: Enhanced Context and Actions via Metadata and Tools
    Andrzej Zwierzchowski
    Session link
    📍 PCC Level 1 – 1.F | ⏰ 11:15 – 12:00

  • Microsoft roundtable: Shaping the AI Developer Experience for Business Central
    Peter Borring, Steffen Balslev
    Session link
    📍 PCC Level 1 – 1.C | ⏰ 11:15 – 12:00

  • Vibe Coding: What I Learned Letting AI Write My Code (And Why You Should Care)
    Vjekoslav Babic
    Session link
    📍 PCC Level 1 – 1.E | ⏰ 14:00 – 14:45

  • Getting Started with AI (Vibe) Coding in Business Central
    Jeremy Vyska
    Session link
    📍 Saffron | ⏰ 14:00 – 15:45

  • Advanced coding for OGs
    Arend-Jan Kauffmann, Eric “Waldo” Wauters
    Session link
    📍 Earth hall B | ⏰ 14:00 – 15:45

Not really Vibe Coding, but super important: in the world of Vibe Coding, developers remain responsible for code quality. This session covers coding areas that LLMs haven’t “seen” in public AL code — things you must know to spot gaps in AI-generated code.

🗓️ Day 3 – November 6

  • Vibe-Driven Development: Why Your Best Developers Will Hate This (And Why It Works Anyway)
    Matt Traxinger
    Session link
    📍 PCC Level 1 – 1.E | ⏰ 11:00 – 11:45

  • Clean Code is Dead, Long Live Clean Code
    Vjekoslav Babic
    Session link
    📍 Earth hall B | ⏰ 11:00 – 12:45

Closing Thoughts

It’s truly disappointing that I can’t be there in person this year. Directions EMEA has always been one of those places where I recharge on community energy — catching up with friends, learning from others, and sharing my own crazy ideas. This time, I’ll be following online — so please share your news, updates, and photos, so I (and many others who can’t attend) can still feel part of the experience.

If you’re going:

  • Don’t just stay in your comfort zone — walk into those agentic coding sessions and let your brain melt a bit 🤯.

  • Chat with the MCP creators. These folks are literally inventing the future of AL right now.

  • And most of all — enjoy it. This is the moment where AI is no longer just “copilots,” it’s becoming your true coding buddy.

So go, get inspired, and maybe raise a beer for me 🍻. I’ll see you at a future Directions — hopefully back on stage, showing what’s next.
